Introduction
The Talley Community Amenity Association (TCAA) is a charitable limited liability company registered at Companies House and with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. It exists to promote facilities for recreation and leisure activities for the benefit of the inhabitants of the parish of Talley, particularly the provision of public amenities and public woodland.
The Association is run in accordance with its "Articles of Association" by a team of Trustees. These are elected from among the members at the Annual General Meeting held each September. The Trustees hold regular meetings, to which all members are invited. Although only Trustees may vote at these meetings, members are free to speak and raise any concerns they may have or any other relevant topic they consider worthy of consideration by the Trustees. Any local resident may apply to become a member. Residents may become an Individual Member or a Member representing an organisation to which they belong. Many local organisations are represented among the membership, including Capel Esgairnant, Cymdeithas Cwmdu, FUW, the Luncheon Club, Providence Chapel, St Michael’s Church, Talley CP School, Talley History Society and Talley Tigers. If YOU want to see improved leisure facilities provided for Talley, why not join us? Membership is free and all we ask is that you support the Officers and other Trustees by attending the Annual General Meeting and as many other meetings as you are able, as well as enjoying the facilities that TCAA provides. Main Projects
Current Plans for the four main projects are outlined below -
Talley Woodlands. Thinning work will be carried out in the Woodlands from November 2007 until February 2008. Felled timber will be removed by lorry but it is expected that there will normally only be one lorry journey through the village each day. Access will be temporarily restricted in those areas where thinning work is being carried out. At the completion of the project, the tracks through the woodland will be repaired and improved during March and April 2008.
Recreation Field. Once ownership of the land passes to the Community Council, the recreational facilities will be managed by the TCAA after a survey has been conducted to determine the wishes of the local residents.
Community Website TCAA now owns two website addresses – www.talley.org.uk and www.talyllychau.org.uk – both of which will be developed in the coming months. It is intended that one should be in English and the other in Welsh.Members of local clubs and organisations are encouraged to contribute to the website content.
Land Purchase Fund A Social Activities Sub-Committee has been appointed to arrange suitable fund-raising activities. Initially they will consider the establishment of the "adopt a tree" scheme with particular emphasis on involving Talley School. Members of the Sub-Committee are - Stephanie Day (Co-ordinator), Sarah Gray, Janine Roberts and John Rees.Contact Details
